How Brainiac Media were contracted to develop an energy performance reporting and management platform. Panacea looks to bring together the expertise of various scientific specialties to help provide guidance and create awareness of environmental problems and technology and funding solutions.

The brief

Brainiac Media was contracted to create and develop a cloud-based energy reporting and management system. 

What we did  

The intent is to incentivise a cleaner, greener step closer to Net-Zero within the educational system in the United Kingdom. It acts to help energy and facility managers meet compliance and internal goals for energy use while educating students at an early stage in their life where they are still malleable and open to learning about environmental plights. Essentially, it looks to educate our youngest members of society so that they grow and make a better job of educating others and through this create a positive cycle of environmental awareness and care. 

This equips decision makers like heads of schools estates and financial directors with a system that provides an overview of an estates energy performance. This would mean that schools would have the means to determine energy saving options and open a space for dialogue and decisions to be made regarding how new renewable energy equipment is performing against previous years. More than that, it provides schools across the country with the opportunity to discuss not only with their own staff, parents and students about their energy consumption but with other schools, other parents and other students across the kingdom, while working towards achieving their net-zero goals and targets. 

The system platform and reports that were built by Brainiac Media reports on inside and outside temperature data as well as specific building blocks and sections that report on the interaction between the parameters of the various thermal zones. The system can also be managed remotely helping estate managers control the schools Building Management System from a cloud based system. This is especially helpful as it will allow schools to have a greater degree of not only control but responsibility of and accessibility to their own energy goals. It also allows schools to hold themselves accountable, and report and comply with government set legislation on energy use, with little excuse for not bettering energy consumption. 

The system collects data points of all electric, gas and renewable energy sources. This can include heat pumps, solar and wind energy, battery and compares the data against new renewable energy systems to display savings made and renewable energy storage with opportunities to sell energy back to the grid.

This platform has been a highlight for Brainiac Media since its conception as it trumps a cause that our Brainiacs thoroughly believe in. Brainiac Media always looks to support green initiatives and opportunities for aiding the country to reach its net-zero targets for 2050.
